What is Gen AI University?
Gen AI University is a community Darby Rollins built for founders looking to leverage AI for strategic execution. Darby describes it as “the fulcrum” — a small-leverage point where the right insight applied at the right moment can have an outsized impact on a founder’s business, rather than another source of noise, overhyped shortcuts, or courses for people not ready to take action.
Who is Gen AI University for?
It is aimed at founders who already understand the power of AI and want to use it to make a greater positive impact in their business and in the lives of the customers and clients they serve. Darby describes the community as a place for building each other up and connecting with other founders who are building products, making an impact, and looking for clarity and confidence in the decisions moving their business forward.
What does Darby mean by “the fulcrum”?
Darby draws the idea from drumming: as a lifelong drummer, one of the first things a music teacher taught him was finding the balance point on a drumstick, the spot that gives the most leverage with the least effort. Gripping the stick even centimeters off that point throws off the balance, and the fix isn’t gripping harder — it’s finding the right point. He applies the same idea to AI in business: the goal isn’t using AI to do more, more, more, but to offload the things that don’t matter so there’s more clarity, focus, and time for the things that do.

Since founding it in 2021, Darby says the tools and trainings he’s developed have influenced millions of dollars in sales and reached hundreds of thousands of people learning to use AI in their business and life. My name is Darby Rollins, and as the founder of Gen AI U and the world’s first verified Jasper user, I’ve been helping entrepreneurs, founders, creators, and innovators learn how to use AI for their business since 2021.
For founders looking for ways to harness AI to grow their own business, we understand there’s a lot of noise out there, and this is not the place for more noise. This is not the place for more overhyped shortcuts. This is certainly not the place for course junkies or people that aren’t ready and willing to take action.
Since our inception in 2021, the tools and the trainings that I’ve developed have influenced millions in sales and impacted hundreds of thousands of people around the world, learning how to use and leverage AI for their own business and life. And one thing I’ve learned since founding Gen AI U was that the people that are able to put AI into action and make an impact that can have a much larger effect are the founders of the world who are ready to take action and execute with the right strategies executed at the right time.
This space is for building each other up, for connecting with other founders who are building products, who are making an impact, and who are looking for clarity and confidence that the decisions they’re making are going to move the needle forward in their business to make a positive impact on the customers and the clients that they serve and support.
In my own personal mission to impact millions of entrepreneurs through AI, tools, games, and play, Gen AI U is the fulcrum for where I spend my time sharing, teaching, learning, and creating with other members of our community, other founders who have visions that they want to see come to life and helping you turn those big dreams, those bold ideas, into actual reality.

You know the saying: small hinges swing big doors. The fulcrum is that for us as founders.
On a personal note, I’m a drummer, and as a drummer for all my life, one of the first things I learned from one of my first music teachers and drum instructors was about finding the fulcrum on a drumstick to give you the most leverage when you play with the least amount of effort. That point on this stick is about right here, and it’s the balancing point to where it’s perfectly balanced and all the leverage is in your hand.
If you grip the stick at the wrong part, even centimeters away from the fulcrum, it throws the entire balance off. And the answer to that is not gripping the stick harder in the wrong place. It’s about having the feel that you can balance the stick at the perfect point on the fulcrum to give yourself the most leverage to play with the most speed, precision, and clarity without forcing the next beat.
And as a founder myself, as a creator, as an entrepreneur, and as a fellow human being, I believe the power in AI is not about just being more productive or being more efficient or doing more, more, more, but rather giving us the ability to offload and free up our time from the things that don’t matter most, so that we have the clarity and the focus and the time to spend on the things that matter most.
