A Candid Content Update

Published February 23, 2026 · 3 views on YouTube

Why is this channel’s content changing?

Darby is cutting back on fear-based, hype-driven AI content and refocusing on two things: supporting founders who want to become more AI native in sales, marketing, and internal operations, and growing Side Hustle Live, an in-person comedy game show and third space for entrepreneurs. Expect less AI hype and more of both.

Who is this content now made for?

The work is aimed at founders of already-successful companies who want to enable their teams and become more AI native across their operations. Darby describes his best-received work as finding “the small hinge that can swing the big door” — the point of highest leverage for implementing AI inside a business, understanding that adoption is an ongoing, constantly changing process rather than a one-time fix.

Why is Darby avoiding AI hype content?

Darby says there’s already enough “fear-based, hypy, flash in the pan” AI content online, much of it low-substance material that reads like an unedited chatbot output. He’s actively unfollowing accounts posting that kind of content and does not want his own feed adding to the noise, especially since tools change so fast that hype-chasing content is often outdated within weeks.

What is the risk of chasing every new AI tool?

Constantly testing new tools without applying them can feel productive while producing nothing lasting. Darby’s warning: you can spend a month tinkering with tools that feel like progress, only to have that work outdated within weeks and nothing sustainable to show for it, because the next new tool has already arrived and the cycle repeats.

What is Side Hustle Live?

Side Hustle Live is a comedy game show for entrepreneurs and a third space where founders, entrepreneurs, and professionals can unwind, play, laugh, and make real in-person connections away from day-to-day work. Darby says it’s where he’s seeing the most growth and the strongest connections right now, and it will get more of his content going forward. He mentioned an upcoming show at Persing in Austin on March 18th during South by Southwest 2026, with DMs open for tickets.

Full video transcript

Hey everybody, Darby here, and in this video I want to share with you a quick update for what kind of content you’re going to see me posting over the next few weeks, the next few months, as I am continuing to build a few different projects that I am heavily invested in myself. And some of the content that you won’t be seeing from me, because frankly I think there is enough fear-based, hypy, flash-in-the-pan AI content out there to go around for everybody, and I am going to be actively repelling that type of content on my own feeds.

I’ll be unfollowing a lot of people that I think are just posting complete — not anything with any real substance to it — related to AI, focusing more in on how I can support the clients in the community that I have built and that I enjoy working with, which primarily are founders of successful companies who want to enable their team and become more AI native in their own operations, whether that’s sales, whether that’s marketing, whether that’s internally how they operate.

My work is most well-received by founders who are already successful and are looking for the small hinge that can swing the big door, so to speak — the fulcrum where there is a lot of leverage in implementing AI, but realizing that is an ongoing process to incorporate these different tools into your business, and it’s constantly changing.

And so what I don’t want to come across as right now when I’m sharing this with you is like that I’m complaining about anything, because I am incredibly grateful for the position I am in and have been in in terms of understanding where AI is going. But I’m also kind of just blah about all of this trash content that’s out there from people that you would think are way smarter in terms of how they approach sharing educational content about AI, when it’s clearly a half-baked prompt that they put into ChatGPT and are sharing the same nonsense that everybody else is sharing with no real actual substance to it.

So that’s on one hand. On the other hand, you’re going to be seeing a lot of Side Hustle content. Side Hustle Live, comedy game show for entrepreneurs, a third space where founders and entrepreneurs and professionals can come together and unwind, have fun, play, laugh, and connect, and just get out of the day-to-day work grind and connect with other people who are building businesses, who are creative, who are looking to connect with other people who are, you know, looking to get back in person.

And Side Hustle is where I continue to see a ton of growth, from not just that channel, but how much great connections are coming through it. And so you’re going to be seeing a lot more of that, a lot less AI hype from my feed. And hopefully you haven’t been seeing much of it anyways with the type of content that I have been posting.

But I just think that a lot of stuff out there is just noise, noise, noise, and there’s a lot of extra value right now if you can just focus on stuff that is already working for you and cutting out a lot of noise. My intention with posting content is to provide stuff that is actually useful for you if you’re using tools like Claude and integrating those with other tools inside of your workflow.

But things happen so fast in the world of AI that if you’re not actually applying this stuff, it can be very easy to get lost in this kind of hype space where everything is happening. You think you’re being productive, you’re learning, and maybe even you’re testing some of these tools out, but you’re not actually walking away with anything to show for it. And then it’s outdated in two weeks, and you’ve completely wasted maybe a month’s worth of time.

And that might feel like it’s productive at the time, but then it’s just like, oh, was I actually building something that was sustainable and valuable for my business, or was I just testing and tinkering with the new tool with nothing to really show for it, because the next thing is here, and then the cycle kind of continues.

And so that’s just some of my observations with how I see this space working. And I think the most valuable thing that any of us have at any given point in time is where our focused attention is being spent. And so if you are feeling distracted and feeling overwhelmed and feeling unsure about where to be spending your time with all these new AI flashy tools and things like that, you know, obviously you can cut things out. You can get off of social media, not follow people that are posting stuff that’s making you feel that type of way.

But I mean, in my case, I can only speak from my experience, is putting an extra effort into putting blinders on for things that aren’t directly related to supporting the clients that I am working with and building out any sort of AI enablement systems or frameworks or skills on the AI front, or directly leading back to growing the Side Hustle Live show, because that is where I see a ton of events — not just our show only, but events in person, especially here in Austin — for founders who are actively looking to go and connect and make real in-person human connections. There’s so much power to that.

And the trend, especially here in Austin, but I see it in other cities too, is getting back to in person, get back to that real connection. And we have a show that helps people do that. And so if you’re in town, South by Southwest 2026, here in Austin, on March 18th, we’re hosting our next show at Persing. DM me for tickets. Hope to see you there.
