Lesson 6: Sales and Marketing With AI with Coach Kelley Tenny (7 Day AI Content Creation Challenge)
Published November 22, 2023 · 54 views on YouTube
Key takeaways
- Give the AI a clear product description (Jasper allows up to 1,500 characters) plus a tone of voice or brand voice for better results.
- The AIDA framework (attention, interest, desire, action) and the PAS framework (problem, agitate, solution) are both proven marketing structures that AI tools can generate copy around.
- Jasper's marketing templates apply these frameworks automatically once you pick one; in ChatGPT you get the same result by naming the framework directly in the prompt.
- AI-generated copy still needs a human edit pass — it can invent details (like a coaching team) that don't match the real offer, so check every claim before publishing.
- The same generated copy can be repurposed across an email campaign, sales page, social post, or video sales letter.
How do you write sales copy with AI using the AIDA and PAS frameworks?
Give an AI tool like Jasper or ChatGPT a description of your offer, then apply a proven marketing framework — AIDA (attention, interest, desire, action) or PAS (problem, agitate, solution). Jasper has built-in templates for each; ChatGPT can do the same if you name the framework in your prompt.
What information do you need before generating the copy?
You need a description of your offer, product, or service — Jasper’s product description field allows up to 1,500 characters. The video demonstrates this with a description of a “30-day done-with-you program that helps experts turn their knowledge into a micro course,” including what the program helps clients do (choose a topic, create an outline, identify resources, and record videos). More detail in the input produces better output, though the demo intentionally kept the description short for time.
How does Jasper generate AIDA and PAS copy?
- Go to Jasper’s Templates section and choose Marketing Templates, then Frameworks.
- Select either the AIDA framework or the PAS framework template.
- Enter your company or product name.
- Enter a product description of your offer (up to 1,500 characters).
- Optionally add your Jasper brand voice, or pick a tone of voice (the demo used “professional with a hint of sass”).
- Click generate — Jasper produces three copy variations following the chosen framework.
Jasper’s AIDA output followed the structure clearly: an attention-grabbing opener, an interest-building middle, a desire-building description of the transformation, and a call to action. The PAS version was shorter and less detailed but still on-target.
How does ChatGPT compare to Jasper for this task?
ChatGPT can produce comparable AIDA copy, but it needs the framework named explicitly in the prompt (e.g., “write an AIDA framework for Sarah about this program”) along with the product description pasted into the prompt. Jasper’s dedicated templates make the process more guided for beginners, while ChatGPT requires more explicit instruction but reaches a similar quality of output once given the same product description.
Why does the AI-generated copy still need human editing?
In the demo, Jasper’s AIDA draft claimed the program included “dedicated coaches” and a support team, which wasn’t accurate — the program is run by one person. This is presented as a reminder that AI output should be reviewed and corrected for factual accuracy, tone, and specific program details before it’s used in an email, sales page, social post, or video sales letter.

Hello everybody, Kelly Tenny here, and welcome back to the 7-Day AI Content Creation Challenge. We are on day six. You guys, first of all, congratulations — you’ve made it through five amazing days of content creation with AI. You’ve been posting your results, sharing, and it’s just been so fun. For those of you that have consistently been posting, it’s great to actually see the great work that you are doing, and most importantly the feedback and the things that you’re experiencing. So thank you, thank you. And if you’re still kind of playing catch-up and going back through the previous days, please comment and share what you’re doing with us so that we can share you on and applaud you and give you feedback. So engagement is key, and it’s always more fun to be in an engaging, interactive community.
So today, with day six, we are going to be using AI to create sales and marketing copy that connects with your ideal client. You guys have been working so hard over the last five days to really hone in on who your ideal client avatar is, what your niche is, and yesterday we started creating our first pieces of content focused on education and information. Today we are specifically going to be learning how to generate a piece of sales and marketing copy for an offer that will convert your ideal client into a paying customer.
By the time you complete this task, you’re going to have a great piece of sales or marketing copy that’s going to speak directly to your ideal client, which will increase the likelihood of them making a purchase. So you’re going to need to bring along today either a description of your offer, your product, or your service, and we are going to generate some copy.
I am going to get started today with Jasper, because Jasper is one of my favorite tools — not only to create sales and marketing copy, but because of the templates that we kind of looked at yesterday. They have some really easy, simple-to-use templates that, for those of you that are just starting or trying to figure out how to use AI, make it really, really easy.
All right, so I’m going to go ahead — I’m going to share my screen, and you should be seeing Jasper now. Just so you know where we’re at: right when you come into Jasper, you probably see your dashboard, and here we are — we’re going to go to templates. You can choose marketing templates; you will find them there. You can also choose frameworks, and what we’re going to be working with today is either the AIDA framework or the PAS framework. These are both marketing frameworks that have a lot of proven results around them — they’ve been created way before AI, but Jasper’s done a really great job of taking those frameworks and putting them into these templates for us so that we can get some really easy-to-use copy generated. AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire, and action, and PAS is the problem, agitate, solution framework.
So I’m going to get started with this AIDA framework, and what we’re going to do is start by typing in my company name, and I’m going to generate a product description around one of my offers. So one of the things that I help entrepreneurs do is I help them create micro courses. So I’m just going to start telling Jasper — let’s use my Course Creator Incubator. It’s a 30-day program that allows entrepreneurs to turn their wisdom into wealth by creating a micro course. This 30-day program is a done-with-you program that will help experts take their knowledge, choose a topic for a micro course, create the course outline, identify additional resources, and actually record their micro course videos. I know it sounds amazing, and it is — this is called the Course Creator Incubator.
For now I’m going to give this description to Jasper. I want you to notice here that I’ve only used 335 characters of 1,500, which means you’re allowed up to 1,500 characters in the product description, and as we’ve been learning over the last few days, garbage in, garbage out — the more information that you give it, the better your results are going to be. But for sake of time, we’re going to stick with this. You can also use your tone of voice — now, Jasper, as I shared yesterday, just released this new feature called brand voice, which is amazing. If you’ve been using brand voice and you’ve been setting up your brand voice, you can actually just put your brand voice in here, and if you haven’t, that’s okay, because I know a lot of you are just starting with Jasper — you can just choose what kind of tone of voice you like, so maybe it is professional with a hint of sass. Let’s see what Jasper does.
So down here, it’s going to generate three different possibilities for me. I’m going to hit generate, and let’s see what Jasper comes up with. Okay, so here you can see it’s following the AIDA framework — attention, interest, desire, action. “Calling all entrepreneurs… ready to turn your brilliance into real wealth? Teacher Brilliance is the perfect way to get started creating a micro course that can change lives while putting money in your pocket. Our 30-day program will have you planning, preparing, and recording videos for an amazing course within no time, and don’t worry, we’ll be right there supporting you every step of the way as you create a one-of-a-kind product that could change someone’s life. Don’t let doubt set in — this isn’t impossible, we help make it possible by giving you access to our secure platform so you can easily structure, record, and launch your own micro course from any device in just 30 days” — this is not true for my program, so this is where I would have to come in as a human and fix some of these details, which are not accurate. “You’ll even have access to dedicated coaches who are experts at tackling any roadblocks or overcoming hurdles along the way” — also not true. Thank you, Jasper — my team sounds amazing, but for my 30-day Course Creator Incubator, it’s only me, so I might go back and change this to “you’ll have access to me,” or “you’ll have someone by your side to help you tackle any roadblocks or overcome hurdles.” And then here’s the call to action: “Get started today with Teacher Brilliance and begin transforming your knowledge into wealth.”
As I go through, you’ll notice that they’re just a little bit different tweaks, but they’re all being drafted off this product description. So what I would do is take one of these — I could use it in an email campaign, I could use it on a sales page, I could use it as a social media post, I could use it in a video if I wanted to create a video sales letter. So there’s a lot of different ways that I can use this marketing framework. As I mentioned, I would pick one of these and then put my own voice in there, change the details to make sure that they’re accurate, but it’s pretty much good to go with the exception of some of those slight tweaks.
Now I’m going to take this same product description and go back to the templates, and I’m going to use the problem-agitate-solve template, just so you can see the difference. This is called the Course Creator Incubator that I’m describing, so I’m just going to actually use the product name this time, and I’m going to use my actual brand voice, and I just want you to see the difference in the two prompts and how they compare. But I really like Jasper again because Jasper knows immediately what kind of framework it should be working with. Let’s look at this one: “Turning your knowledge into a profitable online course is easier said than done. You have the wisdom, but getting it out of your head and into a profitable course can really be challenging. Every day that passes without you turning your experience into money is another wasted opportunity — your competition isn’t wasting any time, and if you don’t act fast they will lap you. Introducing the Course Creator Incubator, a 30-day program to quickly turn your wisdom into wealth. With our step-by-step guidance, you’ll create a micro course that will help you share your expertise and make money at the same time.”
You can see that the PAS framework is a little bit less detailed, but Jasper’s really spot-on with this piece. So that is what you are going to be up to. I want you to think again about the ideal client that you’ve been working with in your niche — maybe you have the perfect product or offer ready to go, maybe this is something that you need to consider and think about tweaking, or maybe you’re in the middle of creating a new offer, which is also really exciting.
I just want to show you that if we stop using Jasper and move into ChatGPT, we just have to give it a little bit more information, but it’s going to be able to do pretty much the same thing. So let me switch over to ChatGPT — here’s the thread that I’ve been working with. As you guys might remember, we’ve got Sarah up here, which is the avatar I’ve been working with. So what I’m going to do is plug in the same product description… whoops, oh look, it sounds like a great idea — it just wrote my program outline for me, and that was a mistake, but that was actually also amazing.
So I’m going to tell it to write an AIDA framework for Sarah about this program, and I’m just going to leave the details of the program right in there in the prompt. You’ll notice that even though, unlike Jasper, it’s not a specific framework, ChatGPT is smart enough to know that if I tell it to do the AIDA framework, it’s going to create this same framework, so it’s pulling that information from what it’s learned.
“Are you an entrepreneur looking to turn your expertise into a profitable micro course? Introducing our 30-day program designed to be done with you, providing you with the guidance and support you need to create a high-quality micro course that meets the needs of your target audience. Over the course of 30 days, you’ll learn how to choose a winning micro course topic, create a course outline and learning objectives, develop content and supporting materials, record and edit your course videos, and launch and market your micro course” — pretty spot-on. We don’t do a lot of launching and marketing in the 30-day program, but other than that, that’s the only tweak that I would have to make. “By the end of our program, you’ll have a fully developed micro course that showcases your expertise and offers real value to your target audience. You’ll have the skills and confidence you need to create additional micro courses in the future, and you’ll have access to a supportive community of fellow entrepreneurs who are also creating micro courses. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to turn your wisdom into wealth — enroll in our 30-day program today.”
So this is also amazing, great content — this is content I could take, sales- and marketing-wise, I could put it on a sales page, I could put it in an email, I could break it down, I could use it for social media posts, I could record a video and do a live sharing about my new program, or all of the above. So whatever platform you’re working in with today’s task, you can see that it really doesn’t matter — they both kind of do the trick. But you are going to be diving in, and whether you use both — again, we’ve been doing a lot of side-by-side comparison so far — by now, since it’s day six, you may realize you’re preferring one over the other, but it is time to get to it, to get your product.
I want to know what your product is — you can share your entire AIDA or PAS framework copy in the comments for today, but if not, I would just love to hear “I did a PAS framework for my service, which is X, Y, and Z” — so you can share all of it, but at least just share what you’ve been creating sales and marketing copy for, again, so that we can cheer you on and just see all the goodness that you’ve been up to. So have fun today creating your sales and marketing copy, and tomorrow is the last day, day seven, so you’ve got some time to catch up. I can’t wait to see your copy, and we will see you on our final day tomorrow.
