What did Darby announce about the Gamma partnership?

On this Creator Plus Community Mastermind call, Darby announced that Gamma is the first Platinum-level sponsor of the upcoming Scale With AI Summit (November 5-7, 2024). Gamma will help power the free virtual event, host interactive workshops during the three days, and collaborate with the community on new use cases and possible feature ideas for the tool.

What else was covered in the call besides the Gamma announcement?

Darby also announced that the Market Sauce portal is now live for early-adopter members, giving them a streamlined way to order custom Market Sauce blueprints (sales letters, video sales letters, blog posts, social content, case studies) built around a clearly defined ideal-customer persona. He noted the Summit will be mostly free to attend, with VIP tickets offering some exclusive sessions, and that most sessions will be recorded and posted to the Gen AI University YouTube channel afterward. Community members Bruce Fleck, Robin, and John joined the call to discuss their own Gamma workflows and feature ideas.

What Gamma workflow did Bruce Fleck describe?

Bruce described a two-step workflow: first a GPT and prompt guide that builds a full event plan (problem, result, methodology, audience brief, activities) from a topic, then a second prompt that converts that plan into slide text, image direction, and speaker notes formatted in a markdown code block. Pasting that markdown into Gamma produced a 25-to-30-slide deck that he described as 80-90% finished for a live coaching workshop, with the AI-generated images (using the FLUX LoRA image engine) mostly usable as-is.

What live demo did Darby run with Gamma during the call?

Darby copied the content of his own personal brand website into Gamma and generated a presentation from it, testing image styles (including the Ideogram model, which is noted for rendering readable text on images), a custom on-brand theme, and square/social formats. He then experimented with pasting markdown-formatted quotes to generate one quote card per slide, refined the prompt to strip unwanted quotation marks, used Gamma’s “edit with AI” panel to swap an image for a Ferrari on the fly, and embedded another live web page (a Market Sauce Method site on his own domain) inside a Gamma card before publishing the deck to that domain as a website.

What feature ideas came out of the discussion?

Robin suggested Gamma add a feature to convert any uploaded PDF or URL directly into clean, LLM-ready markdown that could be exported straight into Claude, ChatGPT, or NotebookLM. Bruce and Darby discussed Gamma’s potential as a “finishing tool” that turns AI-generated text and images into a distributable end product (deck, landing page, social carousel, or images) all from one brand-consistent source, and floated the idea of Gamma supporting header/footer code and tracking pixels the way a traditional website builder does.

Hello and welcome everybody to the Creator Plus Community Mastermind. Today we’ve got a few exciting announcements for some upcoming events that we will dive into here in just a moment. It was a bit of a different schedule for today’s call, due to the fact that I’m getting married this week on Thursday, and we’ll be taking some time off after the wedding to celebrate with Rachel, soon to be my wife, and preparing for the upcoming Scale With AI Summit.

Big update for the community as we kick off October and Q4: the upcoming Scale With AI Summit 2024, and the special announcement of our first Platinum-level sponsor, Gamma. I got myself a Gamma hoodie on right now, got some Gamma swag that just arrived in the mail last week, and just a couple days ago we officially confirmed that Gamma is going to be on board as our Platinum sponsor to help power this virtual event, helping people utilize Gamma along with a number of other AI tools that we’ll be demonstrating throughout the event. Gamma is going to host several interactive workshops scheduled within the three days, November 5th, 6th, and 7th. More details on scheduling will come between October 1st and the kickoff on November 5th.

We’re going to be organizing additional sponsors and vendors who will showcase products and services and how they help businesses scale with AI, plus speakers hosting short demonstrations, use cases, and case studies from their own businesses, as well as interactive workshops with deep dives on topics like AI and automation, sales, education, marketing, and ethics with AI. The target audience for the Summit is entrepreneurs and business leaders looking for ways to implement these tools in their businesses. The purpose isn’t to overwhelm people, but to simplify and demystify how to use these tools in a practical, actionable way. Attendees will be able to network with other community members, speakers, and sponsors, and once registration opens, submit requests for topics they’d like to see, both for this event and future virtual events planned throughout 2025. Having sponsors like Gamma on board is what enables the majority of the Summit to remain free, with VIP tickets available for some level of exclusive access to speakers or specific sessions. Most content will be free to watch afterward on the Gen AI University YouTube channel.

As another announcement, the Market Sauce portal is now live and functional for members in the early-adopter program who have been helping develop and refine the platform over the past few months. It gives a more streamlined way to order custom Market Sauce blueprints that expand into sales letters, video sales letters, blog posts, social media content, case studies, and more, all built around a deep understanding of your ideal customer persona. Market Sauce will be used in combination with Gamma during the Summit to demonstrate how to get clear on your ideal customer persona and then turn that information, the psychographics and emotional profile of your audience, into a deliverable like books, blogs, or video content.

Beyond the Summit, there aren’t a lot of events scheduled for the rest of the year, since the Summit wraps up right before Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the holiday season. There may be some pre-recorded workshops or interviews after that, but the Summit is being positioned as the flagship event to close out 2024, putting community members and sponsors in the spotlight and showing off tools that can be applied to different business workflows. Sessions will be recorded, with most available on YouTube and some reserved for VIP ticket holders or paid Gen AI University members, who will also get some exclusive bonuses.

Community member Dr. Bruce Fleck, who will be speaking at the Summit, joined the call. He and Darby recapped the Gamma sponsorship news, the wedding and honeymoon timing, and the fact that speakers and the schedule are still being finalized over the coming weeks. Bruce then shared that he had already run a workshop over the weekend using what he’d learned about the Gamma partnership: an “AI transformational event planning workshop” built from a GPT and prompt guide that takes a topic through problem, big result, methodology, and audience brief, then produces a full event plan with resources and activities. He added a second prompt to generate slide text, image direction, and speaker notes as a markdown code block, then pasted that into Gamma, which produced 25 to 30 on-point slides. He said the coaches in the workshop were amazed, calling it 80-90% of the way to a finished deck from just an initial workshop idea.

Darby and Bruce discussed how Gamma’s interface has stayed largely the same while the underlying deck-generation process has gotten smoother: once you know the flow of content you want and format it in markdown, pasting it into Gamma produces a finished slide deck. They noted the sponsorship is meant to be collaborative, with Gamma’s co-founders open to feedback on features and improvements, similar to how the community focused deeply on a single tool like Jasper a few years earlier. Bruce framed Gamma’s value as removing the time cost of turning an idea into something presentable, calling it useful for building a “minimum viable presentation,” such as a quick landing page you can test with traffic before building a permanent funnel page.

They discussed the quality of Gamma’s AI-generated images using the FLUX LoRA engine, with Bruce estimating 28 of 30 images in a recent deck were usable as-is. Darby shared a personal, lighthearted story about pitching his mom and dad as a kid to let him play a video game marathon, joking that a tool like Gamma might have helped his case. The broader point was that visuals and structured presentations are more persuasive than plain text or long documents.

Community member Robin joined partway through and shared a feature idea for Gamma: a way to convert any uploaded PDF or URL directly into clean, LLM-ready markdown, broken into headings, that could then be exported into Claude, ChatGPT, or NotebookLM, or downloaded as a PDF. He noted he hadn’t seen another tool offering a one-stop PDF/URL-to-markdown conversion with a way to check structural integrity before use. Darby said he’d relay ideas like this to Gamma’s team through their Slack channel and suggested the group could keep a running list of ideas to share. Darby also floated his own idea: that Gamma’s website builder might benefit from support for header/footer code and a tracking pixel for identifying anonymous visitors, similar to what a dedicated landing-page builder like Webflow offers. He mentioned he’d just built his own personal brand website in Gamma over the weekend, from prompt to live site, in about 30-45 minutes.

Bruce framed Gamma, alongside tools like Typeset, as a “finishing tool” that turns AI-generated text and images (from ChatGPT, Claude, or image generators) into an actual finished product, whether that’s a website, presentation, or potentially social media content or ebooks. Darby recalled seeing a similar workflow in another tool where a presentation template was repurposed into social media posts, and wondered if Gamma could support something similar, generating a family of on-brand square images, presentations, and landing pages from one source concept.

Darby then ran a live demo: he copied the text of his own personal brand website (covering his book and Gen AI University) into Gamma and generated a presentation from it, noting Gamma can embed other web pages so visitors can browse them without leaving the page. He explored generating social-style square image sets from the site content, testing image style options including AI-only images, web-sourced stock images, and models like Ideogram (noted as strong at rendering legible text on images) versus Flux. He set additional instructions like “neon green, tech, clean and simple” and toggled between presentation, square (4:5 or 1:1 for social), and other aspect ratios.

Using an existing custom theme he’d built earlier (with adjusted colors and rounded card edges), Darby generated a set of image cards combining quotes and imagery, noting the AI-generated results, including a stylized image of himself, looked convincingly on-brand and “pretty damn good” even if not perfect. He and Bruce discussed how presetting a brand style prompt (colors, fonts, image style) in Gamma’s theme settings means every subsequent generation stays on-brand without re-specifying it each time, and how a full campaign, a presentation, a landing page, and social assets, could in theory be produced from one markdown source in one to two hours once the brand groundwork is done.

The group then worked through formatting details for getting clean quote cards: identifying that each card needs its own markdown heading so it doesn’t merge multiple quotes onto a single slide, instructing Gamma not to add extra quotation marks, and choosing “preserve” rather than “generate” or “condense” so Gamma keeps text exactly as written rather than rewriting it. They also discovered that typing “add cards individually” or pasting content with explicit line breaks helps Gamma split content into one card per idea rather than merging everything onto one card. Darby tested Gamma’s “edit with AI” feature directly on a card, asking it to swap in an image of a Ferrari, which it did convincingly, and discussed how the same square-image workflow could be repurposed for YouTube thumbnails at scale.

They also discussed Gamma’s embed block, which supports embedding other Gammas, PDFs, Instagram posts, Figma files, Loom recordings, Typeform/JotForm forms, and YouTube videos directly inside a card. Darby tried embedding a live web app (a Market Sauce Method site on his own domain) inside a Gamma presentation, then published the Gamma deck itself to that custom domain as a live website, noting that Gamma automatically walks you through connecting a domain via your host (e.g. GoDaddy or Squarespace).

To close the call, Darby invited anyone with Gamma use cases, questions, or feature ideas to reach out via Circle or email (darby@genuniversity.com), noting he’d relay them to Gamma’s team, who confirmed they’re fully open to feedback and feature suggestions. He said the Summit will be free for most content, with a few VIP-only sessions, and that Gen AI University is currently open to up to two more sponsors at a similar Platinum tier for additional deep-dive case studies and workshops, plus lower-tier sponsor, affiliate, and vendor opportunities. He closed by noting he’d be getting married in a couple of days and would be slower to respond for about a week and a half afterward, and the call ended with the group offering congratulations on the upcoming wedding.
